If you have reserved a turkey and plan to roast it next Thursday for Thanksgiving, please plan to collect it by this Saturday the 18th. It shall be frozen. Thanks!
We are excited to offer a heritage turkey this year called “White Holland.” White Hollands are a very old and now rare variety that originated in Mexico, were brought to Europe in the 1500’s, first documented in England in the early 1800’s, and accepted into the U.S. Standard of Perfection in 1874. Because of their wide breasts and short legs they were an important commercial bird in this country in the early part of the twentieth century. We thought it would be fun to offer you what our forebears enjoyed for Thanksgiving. The White Hollands we predict will dress out to 13 or 14 lbs. and cost $6/lb. They are all spoken for as are the larger Broad Breasted White birds, shown at right.
We process the birds ourselves here on the farm as humanely as possible, and store them in the freezer until pick up time. The actual weight of your bird and balance due is determined when you come to collect it.
