Born at Winterthur in 1880, H F duPont expanded his family estate from the house he inherited into a 175-room museum of American furniture and decorative arts and expansive gardens and farmland.  His passion for his estate makes Lord Granville’s love for Downton Abbey pale by comparison.  HF duPont even outbid the infamous William Randolph Hearst, spending an astounding $44,000 for a high chest, during the Great Depression.  Stories abound and his grand daughter Pauline will recount some of the most dazzling as well as tell stories of her own about the evolution of White Gate Farm.
