Kid with chicken          Kids love coming to the farm. Year round there’s room to run and chickens to watch.  In the Spring there are daffodils to see and tadpoles to seek.  Baby chicks arrive five times each season and turkey poults once.  Lambs live here May to November.  Critter tours are timed to take in baby chicks and also include tractor climbing, egg collecting, lamb feeding, and (from a safe distance) bee hive viewing.

Critter Tour * Sunday July 19

Fun for all ages: Observe (and pat!) the baby turkeys & teenage chicks; Feed the lambs; Collect eggs; Feed the laying hens & roosters and learn why organic, pasture-raised eggs & poultry are so important. Climb on the tractors for photo ops. Check the ponds for frogs & turtles, and head to the back field to observe the beehives.  Kids 4 and under are free.    The tour will be led by Farm owners Pauline & David & their granddaughter Scarlet.

Microbiota — Pond life under the Microscope

Farm owners David & Pauline, with help from granddaughter Scarlet, will show you critters in pond water invisible to the naked eye.  Watch amoebas, rotiffers, euglenas and worms enlarged by the microscope and displayed on computer screen.  Additionally on display will be the wings of a barn owl, preserved by Scarlet, a snake skin and other cool stuff.
